Shasta Lake
Located 52 miles from Mt. Shasta and surrounded by the most beautiful mountains and forests, Shasta Lake is known for it’s first class fishing of trout, bass and salmon. Taking advantage of the extensive shoreline, Shasta Lake houses the largest number of houseboats and other water recreation vehicles.

Golf Courses
If you are a golf enthusiast, you will find several 9 and 18 hole courses. The many courses include those in Mount Shasta, McCloud and Lake Shastina

Mt. Shasta Board & Ski Park
Offers the best skiing and snowboarding in the area, located 10 miles from Mt. Shasta, the park is 425 acres of trails and slopes ideal for alpine and cross country skiing.

Whitewater Rafting, Canoeing, Kayaking and Fishing

Besides being the origin of the upper Sacramento River, the area is surrounded by lakes, rivers and streams that provide the best rafting, canoeing and fishing in the area. You will find a variety of outfits that offer the necessary rental equipment, tours and schools for any sport. Those seeking great boating and swimming also favor the lakes.

Mossbrae Falls
In Dunsmuir, CA cool, clear, pure water erupts from springs breaking forth on the side of the Upper Sacramento River canyon. Photographs do not do Mossbrae justice, but the beauty awaits you after a short mile walk from the Shasta Retreat area.

McCloud Falls
There are actually three levels to McCloud Falls: lower, middle, and upper. There is a picnic area and swimming hole located at the Lower Falls. The hike to each of the falls is relatively easy and hike from the Middle to Upper Falls only takes about five minutes. The hikes are very scenic and offer an opportunity to view various forms of vegetation and wildlife. Each of the falls is different from the other but they are all equally spectacular.
